Lovers Breakfast

A couple of days ago a lovely young couple checked into the Inn...and I wanted to make something extra special for them.  I remember when love was young...ahhhhhh.
In honor of young love I made them my "lovers pancakes".
Start with any good pancake mix and a hot griddle. Oil griddle and cookie cutters.  Fill molds with mix and let cook on one side.  Carefully remove mold and turn over.  Trim any excess that spills out the sides.  When dine put on a warm plate.

 

Meanwhile make the strawberry puree.  Use fresh (or frozen) strawberries and heat them on the stove with sugar.  Crush them with a fork.  Allow mixture to cook on medium neat until thick.

 

When thickened serve over pancakes...sprinkled with a bit of powdered sugar.

Valentines Crafting at the Inn

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and we at Enchanted April Inn are inviting you to come and enjoy spending a few hours making Valentine cards (or decorations) for family and friends in our cheery conference room.

We will supply paper, glue, glitter, fabric, ribbon & scissors as well as some other small seasonal items.  There is no charge for participating.  However you must RESERVE your spot!  We will provide a festive atmosphere for you with romantic music to inspire your creative side and seasonal refreshments.
Our conference room will be open welcoming Valentine’s crafters on the following days:

·       Sunday February 2^nd from 1 – 4pm

·       Sunday February 9^th from 1 – 4pm

We encourage you to go to sites like Pinterest (search for Valentine Cards) to get some ideas.  If you want to bring your own supplies you are welcome to do so.  If you have scissors please bring them if possible.  Bring a friend or two! Well behaved children who want to participate in the crafting are welcome but no children under 12 please.  Seating is limited.

Fall at Apple Hill..just a short drive from the Inn

Pumpkins are plentiful in Apple Hill!

Every fall I look forward to the beautiful drive to Apple Hill, where everything "Pumpkin" & "Apple" comes to life.  This year 2 of my daughters and my mother joined me for the afternoon.

  There are lots of photo opportunities in Apple Hill, the stuff that happy family memories are made of.

One of my favorite pies is the  . Walkin' Apple Pie... served at Kids Inc... a la mode of course!

There is just something so happy and cheerful about the bright orange orbs that dot the local fields and are plentiful throughout the area.

 Old fashioned scales...hopefully charge old fashioned prices.

 A Smokey Ridge Charcuterie Lunch...the perfect treat on a brisk fall afternoon.
